A bit of news!

So I have been realitively quiet over the past few months, but I have a pretty valid reason;

Jamie and I found out we are having a baby!

It was all a bit of a shock (timing being a major factor) and was pretty scary at first! We found out at the end of april and after a trip to the doctors and then the midwife I was told I was about 5 weeks pregnant. Fast forward several weeks of trying to hide constant nausea and sickness and an expanding waistline, we had our 12 week scan. We had decided to wait until this had passed before even telling our families, so off we trotted bright and early to the hospital for the scan. I found this rather unpleasant as you have to drink a pint of water before leaving the house and you can't go to toilet until after the scan!

After what seemed like an eternity we got taken through and up popped a little baby instantly on the screen, I was in shock this little thing is growing inside me! This shock soon became a stunned silence when the nurse told me I was infact 15 weeks and 1 day, giving me a due date of 10 December.

Our own little Christmas present! 💕

Telling our families was scary indeed, as babies weren't in our immediate plans I was unsure how they would all react but everyone has been amazing! My mum is over the moon at becoming a granny!

Sometimes I still can't believe we are having a baby,I feel like I am in an alternative universe at times and looking in on someone else's life! at the moment my sickness has passed and I just feel a bit tired and podgy (a real bump has yet to form)

At this current time I am 16 weeks and 2 days gone and our next scan is booked for the end of July where we will discover if it's a little boy or girl!

Anyhoos I am rambling on a bit now, I will try and do regular updates and bump development pictures as and when I can, maybe even some posts showing the types of things we will be buying!

Until the next time lovelies

Back to the Future

Last weekend I had two separate 30th birthday nights to attend, so I thought I would share with you what I wore.

The first was an 80's themed night and I grabbed this idea with both hands. As you can see from my outfit above I took some inspiration from Madonna and a touch of glam punk.

I donned my trusty disco pants (I forgot how good these bad boys are) and creepers. I picked up a lace vest from Primark for about £3 and team all of this with as many pearls and chains as I could. I really struggled with my hair, I was unsure how it was going to end up but after alot of hairspray and texturising spray I was happy with the results! Add a black lace bow and I was good to go!

I am now on a mission to attend another 80's themed event soon, I wish I could wear things like this everyday!

For my night out on Saturday we were headed into town for dinner, so i didn't want to be wearing anything too figure hugging (food baby anyone?)

I picked up this black high waisted skirt from Ebay for a mere £9, teamed with an off the shoulder bodysuit and some suede Mary-Jane style shoes and I was sorted.

I really wanted to do some victory rolls in my hair but alas it was fried from my crazy 80's style the night before, so some simple curls it had to be. I really liked the simple elegance of this outfit and cannot wait to wear it again.

Who would you dress as for an 80's night?

Sweet n spicy Carrot Soup

Sweet n Spicy Carrot Soup

I love nothing more than a bowl of good stick to your ribs soup on a frosty night. This recipe gives the perfect blend of sweet and a kick of spice. Served up with some crusty tiger bread and I am in heaven.

Ingredients
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 2 small leeks, sliced
  • 800g carrots, sliced
  • 2 tsp clear honey
  • dried chilli flakes, add depending to your taste
  • 2 Vegetable Stock Cubes made up in 2 pints of boiling water

Method

Melt the butter in a large saucepan over a medium heat. Add the leeks to the pan, cook these off for 3 mins until soft. Now add the carrots, honey and chilli flakes then cook this off for a few minutes.

Pour in the stock, bring this to the boil and simmer for 30 mins. Now you will need your food processor or blender, pour into the mixer and blend the soup a bit at a time, return to a clean pan, then season to taste.

And that is you, if you are preparing this in advance bring it back to the boil before serving.

Have you tried making soup before, what is your favourite? Let me know below!

I'm Comin Home

Hi guys!

Sorry I have been MIA the past wee while but I have recently moved house and after many an argument and shocking customer service from Virgin Media I finally have got Sky installed this week meaning I have internet again!!  So I thought I would post a quick outfit from a night out I was on a few weekends ago.

This topshop dress is fast becoming a firm favourite in my wardrobe, black and has a tutu need I say more?! I teamed it with my studded waist belt I got from EBay many moons ago after seeing Carrie Bradshaw wearing it in the Sex and the City film.

Can we take a moment to appreciate my panda bag! This is actually an iPad case I picked up in Primark for 4 quid! It is had been lying in my cupboard for months and I finally decided to take it out, you would be surprised at how much stuff I got in it!

I will hopefully post more regularly now I have the internet again!
